Dangan Ronpa: Heaven's Insignia (ダンガンロンパ: 天国の記章 Dangan Ronpa: Tengoku no Kishō) is a fictional story written by Rikuya.
The story revolves around the Heavenly Life of Mutual Killing that befalls sixteen Super High School Level students of Heavenly Born Academy's Class 85th. The killing game is hosted by the dynamic duo Monōishi and Monofreya.
The main theme for the story is "create vs. destroy." New Killing Game mechanics such as The Crest System, were added to influence the progression of the plot.
The release date of the story will be announced soon.
Development
Story
The story has begun its development since August 2016. The original title of the story is is Dangan Ronpa: The Creator of World and Destroyer of Despair, now has been simplified into Dangan Ronpa: Heaven's Insignia.
Characters
16 characters with specific Super High School Level titles and names were created in late 2016, except for Kid Krueger being the only character the author created earlier in 2015. Over four years (2016-2020), each character has undergone significant changes in their personalities and backgrounds as the author finally settled on a particular plot and mechanics he wanted to develop.
Plot
We are now officially assigned to investigate the missing students of Heavenly Born Academy, supposedly freshmen...the 10th batch of the academy... The students who were reported missing in different locations was not the most bizarre report we have received, but rather the entire building of the academy has vanished into thin air, leaving only a huge chunk of empty land behind.
